When I try through MobaXTerm - it prompts for a password which from the forums doesn't sound like it should. The port is identified by the UI as 5901 so VNC should be pointed at X.X.X.X:5901 You can also list open sockets and connections via lsof. I'm assuming the correct IP address is the IP of the FreeNAS machine. As others said, the default port for VNC is 5900. Apologize if i'm missing this answer because it's quite basic.įrom Windows I've tried my MobaXTerm VNC Client as well as TightVNC. I've read the users guide which stops at this point and been through the forums. According to the FreeNAS UI it's now running and available at port 5901 VNC. Or if you click the icon for the VM, there is a VNC option that will start it in a browser window. The default port for VNC server is TCP 5900. In this tutorial we will look port and numbering about VNC. The default port numbering for multiple VNC services can be tricky for new comers. I've just updated to FreeNAS 11 from 9.10 today. If you're unraid server's IP is 192.168.0.10, then you would enter 192.168.0.10:5900 in VNC. It is especially popular in Linux world but supports other platforms like Microsoft and MacOS.
